Quicken 2007 is a nightmare
Pros: Improved automatic downloads from variety of accounts
Cons: Corrupts data & crashes with large files
Upgrading to 2007 was a disaster. It crashed on first attempt and corrupted the data.
Quicken help could only suggest that I reduce the file size. I tried reducing the file size by limiting transactions for everything except investments to 1 year, but it still crashed.
I had to keep investment transactions to compute short term / long term gains properly.
Fortunately I had backups and after a lot of work, I was able to re-install Quicken 2006 which is able to handle my large file (40MB) fairly well.
If Quicken does not improve 2007 or 2008 or 2009 to handle large files, I will be in a bad place.Was this review helpful? Yes - NoQuicken 2007

Cons: Don't use it.
This program has been nothing but problems. It is corrupt and has lost so much data that it has rendered years of information worthless. This program was designed to make you pay Intuit $24.95 so some Indian can make your problem worse than it was when you called.

I had to upgrade to Quicken 2007, because my previous version of Quicken had corrupted its files. (It had added QuickTime, Quark anything with a Q to the Quicken directory) This newest version is extremely complicated to use, there is no good documentation and no customer support. Bottom line if you are new, or do not have to upgrade consider something else.

Pros: similar interface to Quicken 2004
Cons: Dog slower on downloads; errors on downloads
Intuit forced me to change from my reliable Quicken 2004, refusing to offer downloads after 4/15/07. But Quicken 2007 downloads have errors, and are much slower and irritating after Quicken 2004. Schwab transaction downloads did not show in accept window, but claimed they were there, and would not allow further downloads. Dividend downloads would not show proper category for transaction. Chase credit card downloads required new setup, then claimed existing accounts were not there.
I never would have changed execept Turbotax 2006 would no longer accept import from my Quicken 2004; I had to import from Quicken 2007.
Bad quality product released too early without proper quality control testing.Was this review helpful? Yes - No
