Wishing well and a few other songs on this album are incredibly! I don't understand why he brought up nothing comparable to his first Album.
I'm looking forward to his new era at INXS!

Pro Reviews: Introducing the Hardline According to Terence Trent d'Arby

  • All Music Guide

Introducing the Hardline According to Terence Trent D'Arby is a strong debut by this young, cocky Black British singer, who wrote virtually every note, played a multitude of instruments, and claimed that his was the most important album since the Beatles' Sgt. Pepper. Hits included "If You Let Me Stay," "Dance Little Sister," "Sign Your Name," and the 1 "Wishing Well." His first album is a curious mixture of old and new styles. Although the production is quite modern, D'Arby shows his roots in the work of older artists, borrowing a page or two from Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder, while James Brown appears to have had the strongest influence on D'Arby's stage presence.

Pepper's, his brash arrogance captured headlines throughout the U.K., eventually winding their way back to America -- which, ironically, is the exact opposite of how D'Arby conducted his career.During the early '80s, Terence Trent D'Arby was a soldier for th... Read more
