    Pros: Cheap

    Cons: Poor quality

I bought this for only $49 - being told it was the same as the LG but sold under a different name. 3 months after I bought it the sound stopped working all together - video was fine, but no sound at all. I returned it to the store (Best Buy) which g...ave me a replacement. 3 Months after that - exactly the same thing happened again! On a hunch I tried hooking it up to the kids playroom TV using standard audio cables (instead of the expensive HDMI setup needed for the upconvert to an HD signal). Set up that way it worked, so this has now become the kids DVD player and I will buy a decent one for our room. It has some annoying traits, such as you had to turn it on and wait for it to boot before you can open the drawer to put a DVD in, and it was not as intuitive to use as many other players. Bottom line - I have crossed Insignia off of my list of manufacturers and would only own another one if it was free. Read more Less
