Not Bad, but she's done better

Trisha has been quoted as saying that she felt Real Live Woman was such a pennicle that she didn't even feel like doing another album afterwards. I could really feel the lack of emthusisiasm for this album. She was of course as polished as ever, bu...t the songs weren't as resonant as those on RLW or on my particular favorite "Hearts in Armor." This album feels like a lot more filler. Missing are those songwriters she usually utilizes, Kim Richey, Bobbi Cryner and only one track co-penned by Matraca Berg. I am however, happy that someone finally chose to pay homage to Rosanne Cash and acknowledge how much her personal brand of country music influenced women of today. (okay, maybe not today, today, but like three years ago). On the other hand, a mediocore Trisha album is stil better than most of what's on the shelves. PS: If you get the chance, see her in concert. She is the best! Read more Less

Trisha Yearwood's full of a whole lotta love. Five of the album's 12 tracks have "love" in the title, and the seven others that don't are about love and relationships. But whatever Yearwood's singing about, she still manages to dazzle listeners even ten years and ten albums into her career. She's an artist who blossoms with every album and just keeps getting better. She's even managed to arrange a superior list of musical collaborators, including Don Henley (back for more after "Walkaway Joe") on the rhythmic title track; Roseanne Cash harmonizing on the classic song she originally composed, "Seven Year Ache"; and even Vince Gill lending his vocal talents to the blazing "I Don't Paint Myself Into Corners." With praiseworthy songs too numerous to mention, Inside Out is bound to inspire fans and fellow artists alike. Simply put, Trisha Yearwood is timeless.

Trisha Yearwood

One of the most popular female country singers of the '90s, Trisha Yearwood initially rose to fame as a protégée of Garth Brooks but quickly staked out her own identity as an assertive yet vulnerable modern woman.
