Pros: Funny, clever, well performed, makes a good plate
Cons: you need one of those phono- thingies to listen
Probably one of Shel's best albums, if you like Shel you'll like this album.
Some of the songs on the album were very successful covers for other artists, including "the Unicorn Song" popularized by the Irish Rovers (Shel's version is better by the way ;) ). "It does not Pay to Be Hip" was performed by the Chad Mitchell Trio (again, original Shel charm is unbeatble).
Others have showed up on different releases, like "The Boa Constrictor Song". My favorites are "Your always welcome at our House" and "25 minutes to go".
Funny stuff, a mixture of folkish songs with all the un-expected Shel twists and turns. No country type songs on this one, more of the "I'm so good I don't have to Brag" ilk.
I like all of Shel's albums, this one was the first one I ever heard.
