    A Little Change up

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Aug 20, 2003 | 4 out of 5 found this Indestructible review helpful

Indie Legends Rancid explode with a new album that has an old fashioned feel. Getting back to some of their earlier style, Rancid gives us exactly what we want: Gritty vocals, heavy riffs, fast drum beats, and lyrics that are more profound than the ...lightning-fast album of "Rancid(2000)". Although the album is profoundly amazing in it's own right, it has a feel that they have been here before, but that does not mean a bad thing. "Indestructible"
; is no uber-classic like "And Out Come The Wolves.", but nobody was really expecting that. After years of recording, touring, partying, and ruining their lungs(armstrong), Rancid is still putting out incredible music; they truly are...wait for it... Indestructible.

i didnt really enjoy this cd as much as some of their other ones. yeah, i only like 3 songs. There are no Matt freeman lyrics... and that is why the cd is not good! Too many smushy songs that are not importanat nor meaningful!

if there were more songs like "David Courney" and "Spirit of '87" this album would have sound just like the previous one wich I think was the best Rancid album ever.

I thought it was ok...then I saw the video for "fall back down" and it made me score lower. They friggin have that good charlete guy and that osbourne girl. This is the most mainstream they've gone. Plus it says "warner bros. re...cords"... I thought i was primarily on Hellcat Records and Warner was distributing it? Why the hell does the major label get the credit? I'm mot saying i hate RANCiD...hell i have a them for my desktop wallpaper, my screenname for AIM and they're my favorite band, but I'm not so sure about this album. I'll tell ya, it doesn't feel so good writing this negative review. I trully love Rancid and I wouldn't want to disrespect them off or any of their fans (including me). I just have to let it go. never mind that the music sucks, never mind that they peaked in 94, never mind that they always said they'd stay indie, what i HATE is that they chose to hide the WB label, so it "looks punk". I hate it when major label bands pose as in...die bands. its insulting to all the real indie bands and labels. Read more Less

Rancid uses image to sell Cd's

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Aug 23, 2003 | 1 out of 2 found this Indestructible review helpful

Rancid was one of the greatest punk bands of all time. Their albums were all great. Their songs were all great. Them and Nofx were probably the top 2 punk bands of the decade because they were devoted to their music and loved it. Tim Armstrong and La...rs Fredrickson (i dont know if i spelled that last name right) were two devoted punks. Then in 2003 they made broke away from the Epitaph records company and got a contract with Warner Brothers. They used the punk image to sell their records and instead of doing it for love of the music, they are in it for money. They started appearing on MTV and radios everywhere. Now, instead of one the most hardcore bands ever, they are just another pop punk band. I'm not sure if Lars still has his band "Lars Fredrickson and the Bastards" but he should just stick with that. Rancid are a bunch of sellouts now and if you really like punk music, DO NOT BUY THIS CD. Rancid is a disgrace to punk. I swear if Nofx breaks their contract with Fat Wreckchords im gonna kill myself. Some bands i recommend instead of Rancid that are similar music are the Suicide Machines, NOFX, the Distillers (Tim Armstong's ex-wife is in that band), the Misfits,AFI (the old stuff only, they sold out just like Rancid), the Dropkick Murphys, and some of Rancid's old CDs. Back to the catchy tunes, not as hardcore as the last album. I like it now, and I'm sure I will start to love it the more I listen to it and learn the words!

    Pros: Good lyrics

Cons: not as hardcore as others

Ok, this cd was alright, but not as good as the others. and out come the wolves i recommend over this one, but this one will give you a pretty good impression of what Rancid is all about.

    Rancid still has it

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Dec 3, 2003

Pros: the guitars the bass drums everything is spotless

    Cons: ....except for the vocals

I think this is a strong recovery from the last album. Most of all because the songs were longer than a minute. I like rancid and their sound, so of course i'm going to think its super
