Ludacris began his quick ascendance toward superstardom with Incognegro, his independently released debut album, which Def Jam eventually enhanced and repackaged as Back for the First Time. Incognegro thus features most of the songs from Back for the First Time, including the breakthrough hits "What's Your Fantasy?" as well as the Organized Noize-produced "Game Got Switched" and the Pastor Troy-featuring "Get Off Me." Though surely impressive as is, Incognegro unfortunately lacks the three noteworthy songs Def Jam would later add: the Neptunes-produced hit single "Southern Hospitality," the previously released Timbaland-produced "Phat Rabbit," and the U.G.K.-featuring "Stick 'Em Up." So, there's really little reason to both with Incognegro since Back for the First Time is essentially an enhanced version of this same album, though fans may wish to track this rare release down for historical reasons.
