    this one's deep

This is a pretty good soundtrack that features an all-star line up (sort of). Nas & Nature sets it off with the title track, mad song. Then it's Meth & Red, need I say more, Tear It Off is a classic. Then Ali Vegas drops mad verses in The Specialist... with a good loop. Use To Me Spending with R. Kelly featuring Nokio & Jaz-Ming is a r & b song which took a sample from Big's F**king You Tonight. Then it's the controversial song How To Rob by 50 Cent, sure you've heard it. Trick Daddy drops this pretty wack song (in my opinion) called Thug Money. Jagged Edge featuring JD with Keys To The Range is a great r & b song. Then its Jadakiss & Styles and CNN with Bleeding From The Mouth, it's ok. It's 50 Cent again with Rowdy Rowdy, pretty good if not repetitive. Then we have Bust A Nut by Product G & B feat. Marie Antoinette, and it's a great r & b track. Dave Hollister and Jill Scott then drops two consecutive slow jams. Imajin then sings Somethin' About Love, it's pretty good. Then the finale, Quiet Storm Remix with M-O-B-B featuring Lil' Kim, excellent track. One question, how come this version doesn't have Mobb Deep's Where Ya Heart At? Read more Less

The urban thriller In Too Deep starred Omar Epps and LL Cool J, and the soundtrack boasts a similar roster of big names. Leading off, the title track and emphasis single features Nas Nature in a surprisingly lackluster performance. A much better production, and a better matching of skilled rappers, comes with second track "Tear It Off" by Method Man Redman. The pair trade off well and sound genuinely energetic. For better (and often for worse), the rest of the soundtrack has the same hit-and-miss atmosphere evinced by the first two tracks. For every great track and production ("How to Rob" by 50 Cent featuring the Madd Rapper, "Where Ya Heart At" by Mobb Deep), there are a few deadweights that do little to raise the level of quality at all.
