I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS CD. HE HAS AN INCREDIBLE VOICE AND THEN YOU MIX THAT WITH SOME OF THE MOST ROMANTIC WORDS. HE HAS A LONG CAREER AHEAD OF HIM.

This CD took my breath away when the radio stations were only playing so sick. I knew to take it a step further. Get down like that just happens to reaffrim my feelings when me and my boo is doing our thing.... Sign me up gets me going when I'm doing my housework.. The CD is bad...

This, in my opinion is one of the best albums i've heard since the old days of good, soulful R'n'B by artists like Boyz II Men. Ne-Yo has brought back the real R'n'B style, some of it is deep, others cheeky and simply so sexy! I don't know of anyone who hasn't liked it...It's well worth listening to...if R'n'B is your thing that is.

Pros: great love songs to put you in the mood

This CD is awesome. The songs are so meaningful and I love the way Ne-Yo sings. So sick is one of my favorites I really know what this feels like. I just put on this CD and sometimes it takes to back to the times that where so awful. Then I see where I am now it makes me feel great. Also I think he is so cute and loveable, makes it easier to listen to. Hey I girl what do you expect poetry.

It's not often that a first album is completely hot from start to finish. Many artists come out with an album that has two or three songs that you like, and then you put it away, but with Ne-Yo, it's hard to decide; there are so many to choose from!
He's a talented individual with great singing and songwriting skills, having worked with greats such as Mary J. Blige. His collaborations with other artists have also been spectacular. For those who try to rate him alongside Chris Brown, there is no comparison. Both are in completely different leagues, and Ne-Yo's work is much more mature than that of Brown's.Was this review helpful? Yes - NoTalented New Artist

Ne-Yo's album is the best album i've heard in a long time. a lot of new artists probably have a couple of songs that i like and that's it. but i've listened to the entire In My Own Words album over twenty times in less than a week. no matter what my emotion is, i can listen to a song on there. the lyrics are great, the music is fresh, and the boy can SING! you don't get that anymore with most r&b singers. everyone should go out and buy this album. it's like that.
