    Excellent album, love The Corrs

This album has a little bit of everything - from the tremendously catchy opening track "Breathless" (featuring some great instrumental riffs) to the final moving instrumental "Rebel Heart" written by Sharon Corr, there isn't really much more you coul...d want. It's true that the traditional elements of The Corrs previous albums are less apparent here, but seriously it doesn't matter and they are actually there (Rebel Heart is v. Irish)."Give Me A Reason" is another catchy track with excellent lyrics. "Somebody For Someone" is a standout track, with some real emotion behind it and an original sound. It really makes you think and is sad and uplifting at the same time with some lovely harmonizing.Another song with emotion is the very personal "Hurt Before" which is really lovely. The Corrs even wrote a song for their father, about the death of their mother, "No More Cry" is probably their most uplifting song yet, and i find it very tempting to leap around in manner of person hallucinating that they are at a rave while listening to it.Overall, this is a new sound for The Corrs, much more polished and with some amazing vocals and instrumental work. A very, very talented band who write their own music and play their own instruments. Read more Less

A very straightforward release from the Corrs, who spend the majority of this outing in fullblown pop mode, with the Celtic elements mostly being relegated to the backgrounds of several songs. The one exception is the closing instrumental, "Rebel Heart," which stirs itself up fullbloodily to provide the album with an anthem. In Blue is a bright, peppy set that bears more than a few comparisons to the work of bands such as the Bangles and Fanny, though the Corrs have an additional advantage in that Caroline Corr is an impressively muscular drummer. The CD includes a HyperCD section with a video for "Breathless" and various web links.
