If you say you are in to hip-hop and you don't have this album, You are an @$$hole...simple and plain...This is one of the most legendary compositions ever put together in rap history....
This album has got to be on the top of the list for tape most borrowed by a "friend" and never returned... Or somehow it comes up mysteriously missing after having a few friends over for beers...Matter fact, I think my mom even got me for this album....Was this review helpful? I am a huge Nas fan (even thru his commercialism). He an artist that you can feel thru his words and this album was grimey and fresh. If you don't have it in your rep, then your collection sucks...haha!!

Pros: High replay value
Cons: LP didn't have enough songs
The early 90's marked an era of music that we will probably never experience again. Classic albums were dropped left and right and this was no exception. Nas' vivid imigination and lyrics makes every word he says visible to the listener. Illmatic was made at a time where intelligence was accepted in hip-hop with standout songs such as "The World is Yours" and "Life's A B*tch".

I dont like this album
I bought it, and listend to it and liked 1 song which is "The world is yours" i noticed on one of the songs nas took a michael jackson instrumental and just sped up the tempo and for a rap song that is real corny. listen to the sound samples and see if you like it.Was this review helpful? Man this album is off the hinges!! The beats are good the lyrics are sharp there is almost no flaws!(except that its only 40 mins). The best tracks are 2,3,4,7,10. If u still havent heard this album cop this as soon as possible. WHAT ARE U WAITING FOR ORDER NOW! THIS IS THE BEST HIP-HOP ALBUM EVER MADE!! SEE WHAT ALL THE HYPE IS ABOUT!!

EVERY LYRIC ON THE CD WAS DEEP AND THE MODERN POETRY OF NAS WAS IMPECCABLE. THE GREATEST AND MOST THOUGHR-PROVOKING CD OF THE 20TH CENTURY. THE WITTY WORD PLAY GIVES US SMALL GLANCE AT QUEENSBRIDGE 1994.
