    I have owned this work since it's release date, Iggy is not an artist who has range, he is not an artist. If you called Iggy an artist to his face he would slap you like a whore. Iggy is an angry man, he vents his anger on recordings and the transfe...rence works in most cases. Iggy has not made a truly great record since Raw Power. Since that time he has been shackled by the industry and pre-packaged as the God-father of punk. Even though the Ig is bound and gagged these last 20 or so years he is usually able to break through the confinements once or twice on each LP. "Oh Jimmy, just you shut your mouth..." some China Girl passages and most of Sister Midnight are close to what Iggy really tries for but isn't allowed to do in most cases. Buy it and look for the hidden treasures of truth in anger and frustration. Read more Less

    The Idiot, a precurser to a great album

    The Idiot doesn't catch Iggy Pop in his finest hour, although it does provide an insight into how he progressed from the stooges frontman, to the Lust for life Iggy.Bowies production is excellent and the album does contain 2 classics, Dum dum boys a...nd of course nightclubbing. Read more Less
