    I’ll have a Collins.

    By JOEL  Jul 11, 2002

Freshening up with a Collin- tall iced drink of soda water mixed with sugar lemon and gin while listening to Session One of Kimball Collins house and trance compilation seems almost perfect. It isn’t until you focus on the “sonic bliss” of the tr...acks that make the mood enduring. The level of BPM’s allotted to be dispersed in this CD reflects a lively, safe, friendly and welcoming feeling. Most importantly the overall tone exerts a firm grip on positive tones despite the comedic tune by Billy Hendrix, Body Shine. This tune resembles a humorous jester toward you but the overriding high notes supply you with the understanding that it was merely a joke. This in turn reinforces your confidence by making you feel at ease. Whether the listener likes it or not, a gingery feeling overcomes the agitation. Kimball Collins does an excellent job of elevating your melodic feelings by introducing echoic yet vibrant sounds. Café De Mar, Energy 52 is a catchy favored tune that is enjoyed by trance gurus and first time listeners. It is soundly attractive because the beats are directed to brighten your warm intuitions. These tones carry you off secretly into a surreal state then slowly allow you to open your eyes. You find yourself in a mysterious place where you can do and say anything so long as your high spirits approve. This compilation is a Mosaic of trance music. It is one of Collins masterpieces that should be sipped, savored and shared. Enjoy!Review by, JOEL ESPARZA Read more Less

This guy tears it up without being to harsh!
If you are stranded on a deserted island with just one album this should be the one!

  • All Music Guide

A longtime DJ, Kimball Collins has no fears about playing classic tracks instead of the newest club burners -- the self-titled smash by Age of Love is close to ten years old, and Agnelli Nelson's "El Niño" is no spring chicken either. Other highlights come from Energy 52, Cyrus the Joker, Billy Hendrix and "New Life" by Collins himself (with partner Rich Dekkard).

Born and raised in Orlando, FL, Collins began DJing in 1987. By the end of the '80s, his clubnights at ~the Beacham Theater helped jump-start the dance scene in Orlando, which by the late '90s had become one of ... Read more
