ATTENTION!!! If you, like me, have used Hank's last 3-4 CD's as bar coasters or for trap shooting practice, be aware that THIS IS JUNIOR'S BEST CD IN OVER TEN YEARS!!! This CD does not have a weak spot in it from beginning to end. It is s...traight forward 100 proof Hank. You will get the feel that it is a collection of great material that he "forgot" to release from back in his heyday. Although he only wrote one of the selections and isn't featured as a musician on any of the tracks (all studio musicians were used), his vocals and the musical arrangements are better than he's ever offered to date. Normally, I'm not in favor of an artist of his stature doing "cover tunes," but the three he does on this CD are more impressively done than the original artists did them. Buy this CD. It is so strong that if Hank himself offered a money-back satisfaction guarantee, he wouldn't have to worry about a single person taking him up on it. If you felt ripped off by buying his last several weak offerings, this CD makes up for all of them combined, TENFOLD!!!! It will not only completely satisfy hard core fans, it is the type of CD that can immediately turn on scores of newcomers to the fold. THANK YOU HANK I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS!!!!!!!! Pros: Good Stuff

    Cons: none

The only song I've heard was Waylon's Guitar. I'd buy the disc just for that song. I disagree with the guy that said it has been 10 years since Hank put out a good album.

  • All Music Guide

Hank Williams Jr. delivered one of his finest albums in 2002 with the looselimbed, vigorous The Almeria Club Recordings, a record that found the veteran outlaw sounding more muscular than he had in years. A year later, he followed it with I'm One of You, a more conventional latterday Hank Jr. record, one that was a little slicker, brighter, and broader. While the earthy vibe of Almeria is missed, I'm One of You retains some of sinewy, rebellious spirit of that record beneath the glossy exterior, giving it a good gutlevel punch made all the stronger by the solid set of songs he's chosen for this effort. As to be expected, there's a fair share of jokes, such as "Liquor to Like Her" and "American Offline," but these are more nimble than their titles, as are anthemic ballads like the populist title track and the expert, moving Waylon Jennings tribute "Waylon's Guitar," which is right in the vein of "Are You Sure Hank Done It This Way." It all adds up to a strong latterday Hank Jr. record, ...another solid entry in the lowkey artistic comeback he's had in the early 2000s. - Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide Read more Less

Biography

Hank Williams, Jr.

The offspring of famous musicians often have a hard time creating a career for themselves, yet Hank Williams Jr. is one of the few to develop a career that is not only successful, but markedly different from his legendary father. Originally, Hank Jr. simply copied and played his father's music, but as he grew older, he began to carve out his own niche and it was one tha... Read more
