    I Against I album review

    This album is a classic! Fantastic aggressive, quirky music. The sound quality is not great but the content makes up for any technical deficiencies. In light of all the music that has come since it might not be as easy to hear it in context. When it... came out there was nothing else like it. The hard riffs and grooves and HR's Tasmanian Devil vocal style is unlike anything else on record. It is also lyrically interesting; abtract ideas that reference socail issues, rastafariansim and personal experiences are constructed in ways that are rhymically and melodically exciting. Most Bad Brains fans cite "Reignition" as a favorite from this era. The rhythmic pattern for this song set the stage for "Quickness," the band's next album, which is also phenomenal.
