The trio of Husking Bee stuck with their fast driven pop-punk and melodic vocals since their 1996 debut album Grip. But with their follow-up, 1998's Put On Fresh Paint, the band exploded onto their underground scene of Tokyo, Japan, eventually selling over 100,000 copies. This success would eventually earn Tekkin (bass), Isson (vocals/ guitar), and Leona (drums) the right to quit their day jobs and sign a U.S. distribution deal with Doghouse Records.
