    yes..I can recall that year..the year of living with reagan and AIDS. Scary time for us all..THANK GOD for A-HA...MTV with "take on me"..gosh I can't believe i recorded this on VHS..sheesh...i know that tape has got to be somewhere in my closet...kud...dos to A-HA..thanks for the memories!!!!!!!rob:-) Read more Less

    This is friendly synthesizer pop, fronted by the emotive, sometimes falsetto vocals of Morten Harket. But it was Harket's looks, as exhibited in the semi-animated video, that sent "Take on Me" to number one in the summer of 1985. The album also contains the follow-up, "The Sun Always Shines on T.V." (number 20). But so far, this million-selling debut is the beginning and end of a-ha as legitimate record makers in the U.S. (In the U.K., in contrast, the album spawned four Top Ten hits, including the title track and "Train of Thought.")

Pal Waaktaar and Magne Furuholmen, formerly of Bridges formed aha in the early '80s. Morten Harket joined the duo, and they left for the now "legendary London flat" (so called because of its state of disrepair) to make it.
