Could any Hollywood scriptwriter have dreamed up anything as outrageous as the truth about the fabulous Howard Hughes? Born in Houston in 1905, Hughes was 18 years old when inherited the booming Hughes Tool Company, a manufacturer of oil-drilling equipment.
