This is the movie that started it all: 1953's "House of Wax" with Vincent Price in the lead role. It is an excellent film, and I think it's interesting that Warner Brothers put the original - 1933's "Mystery of the Wax Mus...eum" starring Lionel Atwill - on the DVD as well. It would have been interesting to see the film in its original 3D, but even though we don't have the stylish blue and red cardboard glasses, this movie is still a lot of fun. Watching this film, you can almost feel sympathetic for Henry Jarrod, and understand why he has to kill these people that look like his original figures. Vincent had a way of getting the audience to be on his side, instead of with the good guy. I put 4 stars for the features because the television special just cut off in about 5 minutes. I'm sure it was longer than that, and I would think that if you don't have the complete program than don't put it on and have it cut off in the middle. Other than that, excellent. If you like a good old-fashioned horror movie, then watch this one...and also the original. I always find it interesting to compare an original to the remake. Read more Less
