1000 cheers to rob!
Pros: instant classic
Cons: not enough extras on dvd
I did not care much for Rob Zombie untill I saw this movie. I was so happy to see a movie that used the style of cult classic horror. If your not into classic cult horror you will NOT like this movie, if you are, then run rabbit run and get this movie, you will not be dissapointed.

Most mainstream critics did not get this movie because they didn't understand that it wasn't taking it's self 100% seriously. It is an homage to 70's horror flicks, mostly 'The Texas Chainsaw Massacre'. If you enjoy horror movies this will seem like the most beutiful thing you've ever come across. The scene 'I Remember You' (when some county cops uncover the families 'cheerleader collection') is my favourite part, the direction and cinematography in that scene is amazing, you'll have to see it to know what I'm talking about. The most memorable performances come from Capt. Spaulding (you'll wonder if he has connections to the Firefly families dasterdly deeds), and Baby Firefly, mostly from her killing scene and her deliciously twisted, almost gothic-like, cabaret act of Betty Boop's 'I Wanna Be Loved By You'. Watch the Director Commentary, its insightful and funny. You might have to watch the movie twice so you'll fully appreciate it, after I saw it again I LOVED it!

this is an "interesting" movie. Rather graphic, so if you're sensitive don't watch it. I can see this one having a BIG cult following. There are some rather funny moments....

Rob did a great job at bringing horror back to where it was in the 70's when horror was real and actually good. Definitely worth viewing and I will positively be adding this to my horror collection!

Rob Zombie has made a 1970's horror Film in the 2000's. It obviously owes a lot to Texas Chainsaw and this Film leaves You wanting.Zombie's fights over the content are well known, costing His deals with Universal and MGM . The Film feels heavily edited and I expected the DVD to have an unedited version but it doesn't.

Being a fan of zombie and horror films, I really wanted to see this film. The movie was not bad at all, but I thought the flow of the story was shaky. I wish there was more blood! Eventhough the actors I thought looked scary, the acting sometimes was too dramatic. All and all, I would say zombie made a good movie, but don't expect, "chainsaw masseger"

If blood and gore is what you want then House of 1000 Corpses is the movie for you. Reminiscent of Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Corpses offers a new, modern take of a psychotic family that is ready to do in a group of unsuspecting college students. Rob Zombie's long awaited addition to the horror movie archive does not disappoint. A killer soundtrack and superb acting makes this an instant classic. Just check out Sid Haig's performance as Captain Spaulding and you'll see what I mean. Corpses is a must for any horror fan.

I'm definatly a love of freaky and twisted movies but this one didn't even get me wet. I've never been so dissapointed in a movie. Texas Chainsaw Massacure was a better film and it was simply blood and guts. After all the hype about Rob Zombies movie I figured what the hell go ahead and buy the DVD. Boy was I beyond dissapointed only if I could get my money back.

The DVD features are very cool, with cast members doing intros to the menus. The picture, color, and 5.1 are excellent. Overall great movie!!

I'm sorry to all those out there who thought this was a waste of film, they have no taste. This film has as much classic gore to it as the original Texas Chainsaw Masacres and Halloweens. It's about time someone came out with a film without a corney plot and some stupid teenagers chasing around a huge bat or guy with a hook hand.

even though those who do not like horror of any kind will not like this movie, those who are horror fanatics will love it. this movie has great special effects, including shots from other horror films, and even though it is a little different, or a lot different than other horror films, it is not a bad different.

bloody, but not overly gory, haunting and WAY overly scary. Some scenes are SO tense that you nearly have to draw your eyes away. The torture scenes were not drawn out in the theatre, hopefully the DVD has TONS of extra scenes...

I am extremely mad because i was unable to see the movie in theaters. It will be on dvd next month and sure i can see it then, but the theaters around where i live won't show it. Rob Zombie is my favorite artist, so i'm sure the film will be nothing but perfection. I can't wait to see it.
