    Ah, those must have been the days, Vincet Price on your local Drive-in screen. And these two films certainly manage to rise above the typical "it came from the lake"-type flicks without missing any of the charm of said type of films.These two are re...ally murder mysteries with horror elements used as red herrings, well, more or less anyway. House on Haunted Hill features and haunted house of course but just how much the haunting influences the killings is not made clear. Some quite effective jump scares and a cheesy attack by a plastic skeleton highlights the proceedings. The Bat on the other hand can be seen as murder mystery which echoes of things that was to come, namely the slasher genre and it's Italian counterpart the Giallo. On the whole this is a highly recommended disc. Read more Less
