Hoover Mach 3 is Superlative

Pros: Superbe Suction. Best of any Vaccuum of any Brand that we have ever owned.

Cons: Have found NO negatives

We have had
SINGER,KENMORE, HOOVER vacuums in the past. We thought the last Hoover worked well, but the first time we used the Hoover Mach 3, we had to empty the dirt receptacle 3 times while vacuuming our home. We were horrified at what the last vacuum left behind and delighted at the power of this machine, We were thinking of replacing our carpets in our home, but after the first vacuuming our existing carpets look almost new. My husband said this $80.00 investment saved us $25,000 in new carpeting.
We then tried the upholstery power head that has its own motor. Again delighted with the ease of use and rapid removal of dirt, debris and animal hair.
We have used this machine on hardwood and carpet and are SOOO pleased and delighted with the results on both surfaces. Actually look forward to vacuuming now What a buy! THANK YOU HOOVER.

Pros: Has enough power to fill the canister

Cons: Everything, falls backwards, ineffective

This vaccum fell backwards onto an antique cabinet and broke glass at a very slight pull of the cord. When you take off the suction hose to use it as a hand held vaccum, you can feel the weak suction with your hand, very bad product, not worth the 100$ I paid and how flashy it looks. The 50$ bissel I used to have was twice as effective and half the weight of this thing.

Pros: Best suction of any vacuum cleaner I've ever owned

Cons: Absolute nightmare to empty

My mother almost never bought anything but Hoovers. When I needed a new vacuum cleaner, after trying several other brands over the years, I decided to try Hoover once again.

This vacuum cleaner is the best for suction I have ever had. I can actually feel the difference in my carpets when I'm through vacuuming. I also notice the difference when I am emptying it. Which leads me to the downside of this product.

It is a veritable nightmare to empty. The canister is heavy and awkward to handle. I get dust everywhere, including my clothes. When I am finished, I need to re-vacuum the area where I emptied it. I cannot empty the canister in my kitchen trash can unless it is totally empty because I need to put the whole canister inside the trash can to minimize the dust. This is really a problem for me because I am highly allergic to dust.

Regarding the cord problem mentioned in a previous review, I don't have a retractable cord. It coils and hangs on a hook. This can be a problem also because the cord falls off when I put the vacuum cleaner in the closet. More often than not I have to recoil and rehang the cord. Once when I was finished vacuuming, I coiled the cord and hung it on the hook and started pushing the cleaner to the next room. The cord fell off and my feet got tangled and I nearly fell.

I cannot afford to pay hundreds of dollars for a vacuum cleaner, so I need to get the most bang for my buck. Most other vacuum cleaners in this price range really sucked in the suction department (pun intended). I feel this one actually cleans my carpets. But I would suggest Hoover go back to the drawing board on this one and a least find a more lucrative way of emptying it.

Pros: Nothing

Cons: Overall worst vacuum ever owned.

Barely any side suction. Cord does automatically retract but the cord is in a terrible place, you have to run it through the handle to keep from running it over. Noisey. Terrible suction, several swipes over a tiny fleck to pick up. Cannister is difficult to remove for dumping, you make a mess emptying it. Overall the worst vacuum ever owned.
