I am looking for garth brooks-the hits cd, and I cannot find it anywhere on the net, one that isn't used that is, and if anyone could tell me where I could find it to purchase, it would be appreciated!

    It's funny....

This album is labeled "country". That's funny because I thought people like George Jones, Waylon Jennings and Johnny Cash were country. This sounds more like pop music, maybe Billy Joel or the REM.

  • All Music Guide

The Hits is exactly what it says it is -- 18 of Garth Brooks's biggest hits, including his first 14 number one singles. Although he has good album tracks on each of his records, this is the essential Garth Brooks album -- it gives a good sense of the singer's talents, especially his under-appreciated eclecticism. The Hits was only in print for a year, but it sold in excess of eight million copies, so it could hardly be called a limited edition.

With his commercially savvy fusion of post-Merle Haggard country, honky tonk, post-folk-rock sensitive singer/songwriter sensibilities, and '70s arena rock dramatics, Brooks brought country music to a new audience in the '90s -- namely, a mass... Read more
