Well this movie has it all, mastrubating homo-erectus, a comedic dance number, a gay Roman caesar with his horny orgy loving queen, the biggest joint ever rolled in Hollywood history and don't forget the cleavage. Oh yes the cleavage! Mel Brooks explains his interpretation of the history books in his popular corky style. Very, very funny. Sorry but the feminists should beware of this movie.... lol

This is one of Mel's greatest movies. The reviews here will attest to this , except for the one poor fellow who must be the tragic victim of a humorectomy. This a must have for Brooks fans.

I always loved Mel Brooks as a child, and from "The Producers" to "High Anxiety," he kept me rolling in the aisles. Then came the first of his slump pictures, "History of the World Part One," a tasteless, mirthless, supposed comedy with only one funny thing going - "The Inquisition Song." The rest is vulgar and forgettable. Brooks wastes his large troupe of talented stars, and the result is a shambles.

This is mel brooks best film. once i saw it i could not stop laughing. i give it 5 out of 5 stars. i highly recommend this movie for comedy fans.

I saw History of the World for the first time when I was still in my early teens and every scene in that movie is still etched in my mind to this day. I've been desperately searching for this movie for the longest time and I am glad to know that it can now be purchased online ... as well as the rest of Mel Brooks' work. I just love his sense of humor. 8-)
