A recurring favorite among sports gamers, 3DO's pro baseball series returns to its native PC platform with new gameplay elements and enhanced presentation. High Heat Baseball 2003 features "signature" pitcher and batter animations, improved "TruPlay" artificial intelligence, and more effusive, situation-appropriate commentary, while retaining the accurate statistics and realistic play for which the PC series is known. Other new extras, like animated base coaches, umpire arguments, and even player ejections add to the authenticity of the overall experience. This year's version of the game uses an advanced display engine working with DirectX 8.1 to deliver the series' richest, most realistic graphics to date. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this year's game benefit Curt's Pitch for ALS, the Curt Schilling charity dedicated to research and treatment of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (often referred to as "Lou Gehrig's Disease"). ~ All Game Guide

This game pretty much sucks. It is more of a simulaion, which is nice, but managing the roster is a big pain in hte ass. A player gets hurt about once a game, you have 4 different linups to keep track of, depending on who the pitcher you are facing(L... or R) or if it is interleague play or not. The result of losing a player to the DL? You spend 15 minutes editing each lineup one at a time. Game crashes when playing more than one game in a row. Resuming saved games usually results in a crash. Internet play is a joke. You get connected about once every 5 connects. If you do get connected, the game crashes half the time. One out of 10 connects is crap. Dont spend money on this game. Read more Less
