Synopsis: High Spirits (1988)

Synopis: Things aren't going well for the soused owner of a debt-ridden Irish castle, so he opens it as a haunted bed-and-breakfast and dictates that the staff dress in sheets. They scare up more than the tourists when the former, now-deceased residents join in the games.

2. Absolutely Charming, and hilarious.

   This is truly one of the funniest movies, with an all star cast, and a few of unknown stars. You can see some of the hottest stars, before they were big. Set in Ireland, Peter O'Toole stars as the hotel owner, he's in debt to a family member, who wants to move the entire hotel and its occupants to Malibu,Ca. He decides to have a chat with his Mum, who tells him about the family members who "live" in the hotel spirit wise. He then writes an advertisement in the U.S. papers as one of "the most haunted castles in all of the Emerald Isle. He promises Banshees, pookouts, even Lady Godiva!" His staff members become these spirits, and later the actual ghosts get mad and do a little haunting of their own. This movie is entertaining for Halloween, and has a funny twist to it, without being scary. If you want some laughs instead of screams, this is the one for you. ...
