    Cherrelle A High Priority

    By pantherbaby77  May 24, 2004

    Pros: Love All

    Cons: None

Mizz Cherrelle did it again with her sophmore album "High Priority". This album was produced by Jam & Lewis. This album has a lush sound with sexy string arrangements. The songs on here are superb. "Saturday Love" is a smash hit... with her Tabu alum Alexander O'Neal. The strings, percussions and the bassline is funky and sexy as hell. "Will U Satisfy" is a slinky number with the background vocalists sounding very sexy and sweet. "Where Do I Run To?" showcases her ability to rise above from her sweet vocals to a powerhouse. "Artificial Heart" is a cute bumpy jumper that you can dance to. The rest of the album is hot! With the backing vocals of Lisa Keith, Jimmy Jam, Terry Lewis, Lucia Newell, and Gwendolyn Traylor, this album is sure to be apart of someone's collection. If you love old school magic, then cop this! Grade: A+++ Read more Less

Pro Reviews: High Priority

  • All Music Guide

Cherrelle's light, wispy, occasionally whiny soprano proved quite popular with '80s urban audiences, especially women. Her second album included a monster single, "Saturday Love," that was dominated by duet partner Alexander O'Neal, but marked the start of what became a profitable union. The song almost made it to the top, peaking at number two and turning the album into a smash. It also yielded a decent followup hit in "Artificial Heart," which reached number 18. Cherrelle later appeared on O'Neal's debut album Alexander O'Neal.
