Containing his hit cover of his father's "Honky Tonkin'" as well as an intriguing version of the Beatles' "Norwegian Wood," High Notes is a typically entertaining early '80s record from Hank Williams Jr., featuring a handful of excellent redneck country-rockers -- "Whiskey on Ice," "Heaven Ain't a Lot Like Dixie," "South's Gonna Rattle Again," -- mixed with a little filler and the odd soul-searching cut like "If You Wanna Get to Heaven."
