Written and recorded shortly after his own divorce, this album is the "Blood on the Tracks" for his genre. Fans of Jackson as well as fans of other musical genres will enjoy this album for its superb songwriting and heartfelt sentiments. Among the standout tracks are "Amarillo", "What A Day Yesterday Was", and "Dancin' All Around It". - Daniel J. Smith

| EXPERT RATING: From AMG Reviews Upon first listen, High Mileage seems to have Alan Jackson visiting familiar territory. Jackson's well-earned stardom owes much to his warm vocal delivery, wrapped around gently rolling tunes about the simple things in life. High Mileage is no different, but this time the songs reflect some of the personal turmoil the singer was going through at the time. The Jackson-penned tunes "Gone Crazy," "Little Man," "Hurtin' Comes Easy" and "A Woman's Love" make it clear as to the type of soul-searching he was going through. Add to that the daring, spoken-word "I'll Go On Loving You" and the swinging "Right On the Money," and Jackson rewards the listener in the most disarming way.
