Hi-Standard
The wickedly original, Japanese punk revival band Hi-Standard were formed in 1991 by guitarist/vocalist Ken Yokohama, bassist/vocalist Akihiro Nanba, and drummer Akira Tsuneoka. The band made a name for themselves in native Japan early in 1992 when they released Growing Up on Toy's Factory Records. They were soon brought to the attention of Fat Wreck Chords owner Fat Mike, who licensed the album to his own label for sale in America.
