Pros: Wide variety of REAL planes, Authentic control, Really fun gameplay, Good storyline

Cons: Not many people on line, Controlls can be difficult to master

After playing a short demo of this game over and over I had to rent it. Once I did I could hardly put it down the week I had it. I did manage to beat most of the story, though not on ACE, the hardest setting. I could not get enough of the feeling of ...soaring through the air fighting planes and ships all around you. The game does a good job at making you feel like you are in the middle of all the great battles of the pacific campaign. The online mode had a few different game modes to choose from, though not many people were on when I had the game. Dogfighting proved very difficult but I really enjoyed the "scratch one flat top" game where each team tries to sink the other's carrier. If you at all enjoy flying games then this is definately worth a try. I like Ace Combat 5 and I loved this game, but remember, it's WWII. That means there are no heat-seeking lock-on missles. Just the old school ones that shoot streight and not even where you are pointing them all the time. The game can be very hard in this respect for some, but I managed to get the hang of precision aiming while flying. It's a lot of fun to bank quickly and blast an enemy fighter. So I would say pilots and shooter fans, this game may be too difficult for most average gamers. Read more Less
