Cons: Can't think of any

There are very few songs that Kirk writes that I don't love. This CD is fabulous. His own personal struggles and triumphs are evident in the lyrics - it's honest.

He's one of those artists who refuses to sacrifice content for musicianship and vice versa. And there's a little bit of everything here - classical, contemporary, traditional gospel, spoken word, pop... a perfect balance of the old meets the new.

I agree with my sorhor this was a wonderful album and HERO just lifted God up. If you love Kirk and you want to praise the LORD, listen to it, support the man of God and buy it... legitimately!!

Reaching out to the young people

I like the way that Kirk Franklin uses his music to reach out to the younger generation of kids and teens to help draw their intrest in God through music. This is a good cd go pick it up if you haven't already.

I love this album! It is easy and upbeat with a Praisey-gospel edge twisted up in a hip-hop beat. Can get your spiritual groove on with the whole CD!

Cons: Everyone doesn't own it.....yet!!!

This CD barnone, is his best work ever. It is essentially one of the best "Gospel" recording I've heard. Although in actually Kirk Franklin is in a new "class" of gospel artist who are redefining what some people consider to be "Gospel". Regardless of one's personal definition, this CD is a force to be reconded with. From the initial song "America the Beautiful", which is sung by African children, I was immediately hooked. There is truely a message for everyone on this recording. I am so passionate about this CD that I had to buy one for my mother and sister, so that they two can enjoy this awesome message. This CD is of course highly recommended! Honorable mention~"First Love", "Sunshine" and "Hero"...If I could say more I would...Buy it and it experience it for youself!

A Gem!

I am a student of music. I am actually learning to play the piano. This is an extraordinary work of art. Kirk is a musical genius who constantly reinvents himself. I remember the stirring violin solo on "imagine me". The Jazz orchestra works marvelously with the whole music. The lyrics are profound, honest, and meaningful. Kirk escapes the "Blahs" of most contemporary Christian music whose lyrical meaning sometimes goes amiss. The harmony work is once again sublime. Listen to the varying dynamics on the song "imagine me". This album is full of life and hope in the life-giving message of Jesus our Hero!

Pros: Kirk put his foot in this... I mean everything he has...

Cons: None at all...

There is always big excitement about New Kirk projects. But I tell you it's not Kirk on this project, but it is God simply working through him on this work. Everytime he comes out with something it is hot, and it seems like each time he out does himself... his well is so deep. There is not one track up here that I don't like. This is one of the records you can put on repeat all day long... It has the R&B feel, the Hip Hop feel, the Neo feel, but it all points back to Jesus; it all has a Gospel foundation. And I was loving that Hammond B3!


The CD starts out with an African Children's Choir sing America The Beautiful simply reminding those in America how blessed we are. Then he just lets it rip from there... I won't give too much away.

Bottom line, you need to pick up this albumn (from a store) and support this man and his ministry. And once you get it and a friend asks for a copy, rebuke them and give them directions to the record store!
