    Sadly, the public seemed to be done with Paula Abdul by the time she finally got around to releasing her third album of new material. Or was it just the way Virgin Records marketed the CD? Head Over Heels certainly didn't receive the marketing push ...that Spellbound did. And that's unfortunate because, although Spellbound is also a great album, this disc is by far the best work Miss Abdul has done.From the first track, "Crazy Cool", a modest radio hit, right up till the end it is clear that Abdul has grown vocally and artistically. The schoolgirl-next-door image was good while it lasted but Paula Abdul progressed to an edgier, sexier sound with this disc and she does a very good job with the role. It definitely should have performed better than it did.Standouts: "Crazy Cool", "My Love Is For Real" (#1 on Billboard's Club Play Chart), "Sexy Thoughts", "Ho-Down", "Under The Influence", "Get Your Groove On", "Missing You", and "It's All About Feeling Good".It's old news by now, but buy it anyway.     A More Mature Paula

    Mizz Paula's third album is nothing short of anything less than perfect. Her vocals have not grown one iota since she started. Her dances moves are better than ever. Utilizing producers such as Dallas Austin, V.Jeffrey Smith, Peter Lord, and R...hett Lawrence, she crafted an album that is best suited for someone with more of a vocal caliber than hers. The songs are cute, but lack substance."My Love Is For Real", "Missing You", "Crazy Cool", "Ain't Never Gonna Give You Up", "Love Don't Come Easy", Ho Down" and "The Choice Is Yours" & "I Never Knew It" are my songs. The rest of the album seemed to go into lackluster mode. Cute lyrics, no snappy hooks. As usual, hiring intense background singers like Mona Lisa Young, Debra Killings, Sandra St. Victor (Family Stand singer), Color Me Badd and a whole slew of others could not save this from dropping off the face of the earth. Main line is that Mizz Girl here needs to put her vocals to rest and stick to what she knows how to do best: Dance, dance, dance!Grade: C- Read more Less

    This is an excellent album. I think Paula Abdul could go even further than her 3 albums and dance mix album. I personally would love to see her come back, and make some more great music for everyone to listen. No one else has a style like she does.... Read more Less

    This is Paula Abdul's best work and she really needs to make a new one. Because she has been one of my favorite artists for years(since I was 7)and I miss her talented voice. I also think Virgin records should promote their singers better like Paul...a Abdul, Mariah Carey, and Janet Jackson. So please Paula make another album because the music world needs you!     I've been a huge fan of Paula's for a long time. Her last orignal CD was awesome. There were several songs on the CD I truly enjoyed. I just hope she'll try and make another. Its been far to long of a wait. She needs to try and make just one more gre...at CD. Read more Less
