Nebraska natives Mike Elsener (vocals/guitar, also of Solar Wind), Ben Armstrong (vocals, keyboards, drums, ex-Commander Venus) and Matt Focht (vocals, guitar, also of Bright Eyes) formed Head of Femur in Chicago in late 2001.
