    Hang on to your wallet!

    Pros: Works for 3mths

Cons: Customer support is a nil!

If you are fortunate enough to purchase one of these units, which actually works, you will love it until it dies, which has a life span of 3mths. It has a tendency to overheat and die within 3mths. Trying to contact Hawking for replacement or repair will have you pulling your hair out, kicking your dog and spending the last dollar in your wallet trying to get satisfaction. The phone number advertised on the product and in the packaging does not exist. the only way to contact these people is via e-mail. If you get a response, they always offer the same solution, "download a updated driver." This does not fix the dish, it's dead. You are now at their mercy and will recieve no satisfaction. Good luck, you'll need it! Try netgear, they have a similar product the size of a cigarette package with better db gain and a much better product for a mere $10.00 more.

    Pros: as advertized

    Cons: too exepensive

The device worked as advertized. It was able to bring in a weak signal and make it usable. A con written about it saying it was too light could be a pro in that it is easy to carry. Weighs less than a cell phone. I just wish it could boost signals more.

    Pros: VERY GOOD RANGE

    Cons: SOFTWARE IS LACKING

DO NOT INSTALL THE ORIGINAL SOFTWARE...GO TO HAWKING.COM AND DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL hwl 2PRO, REBOOT, GO TO WINDOWS UPDATE, CLICK CUSTOM AND DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL XPC.11/bc WIRELESS KIT. MAKE SURE USB. 2.0 AND ETHERNET DRIVERS ARE UP TO DATE. KEEP THE USB CABLE AS TAUT AS POSSIBLE. BEING CLOSER AND AIMING THE DISH DIRECTLY AT THE ACCESS POINT, IS NOT NECESSARILY GOING TO MEAN A STRONGER CONNECTION...EXPERIMENT WITH DIFFERENT ANGLES AND LOCATIONS....HAVE PATIENCE.

Pros: easy to use, good value, simple design

    Cons: gaudy signal light

Got mine over the internet one day after ordering. Provantage.com $54.82+$7.95 shipping. Very easy to set-up, pop in CD, hook-up USB connection and running in no time. The first 20 mins. of operation was a little frustrating because connection would cut in and out. I thought mine was defective. After adjusting dish and different angles finally got a steady connection. Before my laptop with built-in WiFi got none to one bar and spotty connection, now it's three bars/18-36 mbps and I've been on for over 7 hours and not one drop. Even live-stream video goes smoothly without a hitch. This product far out performs the $100 Netgear mimo card that I've tried (useless without modem). My only concern is the power and signal strength light which are quite large and always on. The concern is obviously how reliable and how long before bulbs need to be replaced. This product is made in Taiwan and has a two year warranty. I rated support as just okay because I did not need help with install so can not say good or bad. Overall I'm satisfied and look forward to many years of enjoyment.
