Based on the novel by James Herbert, HAUNTED is director Lewis Gilbert's first endeavor into horror, and he succeeds spectacularly. The film features his quick-paced style of action, evinced in his James Bond films, THE SPY WHO LOVED ME, MOONRAKER, and YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE, but is also reminiscent of his noir-like films, CAST A DARK SHADOW and TOUGH GUY. A drastic departure from his previous film, 1991's light, feel-good STEPPING OUT, HAUNTED is a modern take on an old-fashioned macabre tale and an essential film for any horror fan.

    lots of suspense...reminds me of the Kidman movie "The Others". You have to watch it at least twice and keep watching it all the way through to get to the true meaning of the haunting, because the end provides the biggest twist! Personally ...if you like serious ghost story movies get this one, I enjoyed it. Read more Less

    Very romantic horror film.
    Excellent original score .
    Very beautiful scene shot in England castle.
    A must see. Better than " The others ".
    Can't imagine how the story gonna end .
    I enjoy this film with my girlfriend.
