Pro Reviews: Happy Trails

  • All Music Guide

This wonderfully humorous piece is made from musical phrases written by Bischoff played on a computer-controlled instrument, and "exclamations" created on the Mouse Guitar played by Perkis. A rhythmic plucky bass underscores the piece, over which glide wheezy chromatic organ figures. Around this instrumental fly very smile-inducing boings, bings, bangs and squiggly cartoony blasts, and gurgling white noise and long-distance transmission-like ring modulations, and quickly amplitude-modulated metallic sounds. (Where are the words to describe such a rich variety?)
