i own a Handspring visor edge. it is the best pda that i have ever had. the support that you can get is very helpful if you dont know how to work a pda. the visor edge is also the best because it is able to expand and take on features such as a cell phone and a gsp finder in the expansion slot. i think that the price is a little high but it is well worth it if you get one.

I have been a Handspring Visor user ever since they introduced their first version. Now that I own the Edge I cant believe the difference compared to the others. Other than not having a color screen the Edge is ideal for travel because of its weight and thin profile. The stylus is easy to get at on the side with a quick release and the buttons are just flush enough with the face so they are easy to use. This PDA isnt for the user who wants internet access or color screens, but it is for the user who wants the standard functions of the PDA plus the memory necessary to download other programs for work, personal, or fun.

I like PDAs and I lov the sleek thin design of the Handspring Visor Edge. I chose the black and white screen over color for battery life. The battery does last a very long time in the Visor. Sometimes I forget to put it in the tray for over a month. What pushed me into the Handspring instead of the Palm was the buttons. The buttons on the Handspring felt solid where the buttons of the Palm felt squishy and were plastic. "The Palm 500 line hadn't been introduced." Aside from that the two are almost the same. I use the IR ports to move information back and forth between my colleges Palm. The only reason for not rating it a 5 is that I wish it had a vibraton mode to alarm me in meeting such as a cell phone does. None at the time had this feature.

Handspring Visor Deluxe

I bought my Handspring Visor Deluxe this summer. I love this PDA. It's so versitile and can basically do anything you want it to. I personally think it's one of the best ones on the market simply because of its springboard capabilities. I use this thing to keep my schedule, my addresses and phone numbers and all my other little "to do's." I would be lost without it.

I want to upgrade to the Visor Platinum. More memory and better OS. The Visor Edge is exactly like it, but you pay a lot more for the slim style. So my top choice would have to be the Visor Platinum.

I like yhe sleek design, the memory capacity & the display. However, the first unit I ordered, did not respond to the stylus-input in the writing area or on the display after only a few minutes of use (after full reloading of the battery). In addition, the stylus holder came loose since it is attached by a microsrew that is severly undersized. I was lucky to find the screw after things had fallen apart. The exchange to a new unit was easy, however it cost the time of packing and sending. The new unit worked well electronically, however the lid is fastened loosely at the back (stick on) & fell off. Also, the stylus holder fell off again (remember: different unit than the first). Customer service apologized & suggested I exchange the new unit again. They were aware of the problem. I suggested they send me a screw, but they refused & suggested I should go to office max & buy a screw (if they had one). In summary, good design, okay electronics, the screen may not be the best quality, the stylus-holder is useless & the customer support cannot deal efficintly with minor problems, it seems you have to send the unit in each time. For all that trouble not worth $399.00, therefore poor overall rating.

I've always been a bit skeptical about the utility of PDA's. I always thought they were overpriced and overrated. A few months ago I bought a Handspring Visor Edge to help me keep track of my schedule while I'm on the go.

Of course, the first thing I did was watch it slip out of my hands and fall to the floor. It took that, and being dropped a few more times, and it still keeps going.

I work for a doctor's office, and I use it to keep track of schedules and contacts, conferences, meetings, etc. I keep getting kudos for it from our residents and doctors. It seems nearly indestructable.

the best palm on the market

I personaly love this palm i never leave home without it unlike the other handspring PDAs to use the springboard modules you have to use the springboard atachment which does add some size but not enough to deminish its usefullness i would highly recomend this palm to new users and old ones as well
