My Halo Review

Halo is the best action packed game ever! If you like games that have lots of aliens, blood, and adventure, get Halo. There is a little language in the game but mainly if you kill your own Marines. I personaly love the game and recomend Halo 2 also.

"Halo" mixes the storyline and feel of a science fiction movie with the action-packed aggression of "Quake," as well as some of the team and strategy dynamic found in "Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear." The game puts you in the role of a space marine and unfolds on an uncharted alien planet. Fire-fights take place on foot and in vehicles, combating a variety of creatures indoors and outside, requiring you to work cooperatively with a friend or AI-assisted, non-playable characters (NPCs) to complete your goals. The gameplay works on many levels, and the game familiarizes you with its various components while drawing you into the plot.
The first thing you will notice when playing the game is that it takes a while to adjust to the controls, which make use of every button on the Xbox controller. Moving is controlled via the left analog stick, and your camera (i.e. your character's head) is controlled with the right. Getting the hang of moving around like this can take anywhere from a few minutes to an hour, and it only becomes more complex when faced with an enemy, trying to fire with the controller's right trigger, and reload with the x-button. Thankfully, most levels offer plenty of stuff to hide behind while you get your bearings. One major gripe some players may have is that you cannot run, which at times gives the game a lethargic feel.
Progressing through the game is challenging, though not impossible. There are four difficulty settings, which can be adjusted when you reload a saved game. Regardless of which setting you pick, expect to put a healthy time investment into finishing the game. "Halo" offers plenty of variety in its mission, from raids to rescues, and there is a thrill in each new weapon or vehicle you encounter (the plasma rifle and hovercraft are both very cool). At times, the game is overly realistic, only allowing you to carry two weapons at once -- don't worry, you can pick up new ones off any corpse you encounter -- or having to cumbersomely maneuver a jeep through a tight environment with gunfire exploding around you and aliens overwhelming you.Was this review helpful? when i first got xbox more than a year ago this is the first game i got ands it was the best untill halo2 came out, it has a great story awesome levels, guns are so cool, the pistol and shotgun is my favorite combo, but pistol, sniper, and shotgun are my favorite guns, any person just getting xbox should definitly get this game after beating it then you should get halo 2, any first person shooter fan this is a must have.

Halo by any means is the Xbox's signature game. One of the best action games around, Halo delivers a brilliant single player experience with the inclusion of vehicles and squad-based combat, and you can play cooperatively with your buddy in the Halo single player cooperative mode. Multiplayer has many variations and game modes, but it certainly does get pretty repetitive after a long time. The best way to play multiplayer is to link four Xboxes, four Halos and four TVs and play a sixteen player system-link blood fest. Although Halo does do somethings wrong, in the end when you're done with the campaign, you're going to say, "Wow! Did I just play a movie?" The campaign looks and sounds just like a sci-fi action movie. Yes, Halo is that good, and you can't say anything bad about it except about the level design becoming bad in the later stages of the game. If you own an Xbox, you're game library will be incomplete without Halo. It should be a definite addition to your games library.

Great game! Its multiplayer abilities make it fun for the whole family to play. It has several different ways to play so it never gets old. Graphics are good but the story line is what makes this game outstanding. The theme is what makes it great for the family because you are the good guy trying to save the universe so the violence is displayed in a constructive context. It is also easy to play with out a lot of thinking making it good to relax to. However it is too easy to get lost in and I find I dont have enough time in the day to play the game usually.

This game will be seen in the future as a revolution to the video game world. People will regard this game in the same manner that the classics such as Pac Man, Asteroids and Space Invaders. This game is incredible and has a lot of replay value. This game is time consuming. Try beating all the levels on all the difficulty seetings and you may find yourself biting into more than you can chew. The only possible draw back is that this game leaves you hunger for new battle grounds and enemies. Will Halo 2 ever be here. I have always been a huge Nintendo fan, loving the Legend of Zelda (Link to the Past and Ocrina of Time). Nintendo dropped the ball with GameCube, but Microsoft picked it up with Halo. No cheats, no codes, no non-sense! This game game is the truth!

This is a good game but it is nothing more than a shooter. If you want more go else where. I would not reccomend this game to those who don't like FPS. I think alot of people need to feel justified in shelling out hundreds of dollars for a system with relativley few good games. What is all the hype. It is basically Wolfenstein with updated graphics. Bottom line is if you don't like FPS don't pay more than 40 bucks for this game!!!

this by far is the best game on the market since it's release. no one else has made a better game,it has depth and is a dream to play. there are many fps games on the market,but few with the multi-player capablities of Halo. We have all heard so many people say "xbox sucks, they have like one third the games that ps2 has" and you know what? There right. I own only an xbox and this kick @$$ computer, And even though none of my friends own a ps2 i wanted to get an xbox. Halo is probually the number one reason that i bought my xbox. Halo provides hours and hours of some of the most fats paist action, but don't get me wrong, there is is about a good 2 hours worth of the slow paist thinking parts of this game two. Look, this is simple, if you own a xbox, yuo have got to go out and buy this game. Thats all thats there is to it!!!

ive been playing vidoe games since i was 3 (im 12 now) and i love this game!!! It has some downfalls like no computers to play agenst in multiplayer and the missons take to long......
