Hairspray is great! The high energy movie will keep you dancing the whole time. You can sing along with your favorite characters, so it's even better than in the theatres! The "Shake and Shimmy Edition" contains fantastic extras that will, among other things, teach you the dance moves so that you can dance along too! This is definitely a great holiday gift: it's wonderful!

Why do they change what could have been an amazing movie in order to have more "big name" actors. John Travolta was just absolutely horrible. All the plot changes were just ridiculous. Zach Efron was singing to a picture. Did NO ONE find that weird...especially when the picture started singing back???
And the whole break up between Tracie's parents. COME ON!!!
If it isn't broken, don't fix it
the play is AMAZING, and did not need to be changed so drastically.
they added dumb new songs, and took out great old classics.

It is a good modern twist to the musical. Zac Efron REALY did well. The songs will come to your heart instantly.

This movie is truly amazing! There is such a wonderful message and they make it funny too. The great actors such as John Travolta, Zac Efron, Queen Latifah, Amanda Bynes, James Marsden do a great job. Newcomer Nikki Blonsky is like she has starred in so many other movies, but has never. The whole movie is truly amazing. And yet, it shows people what truly happened in the sixties, and gets the message across to the younger kids these days. It appeals to adults, elders, children, teenagers, everyone! I think this truly is an amazingly awesome movie and everyone should check it out.
