    Pros: Fast and loaded

Cons: Wi-Fi could work a little better

This is my first hand-held and I decided on the ipaq after exhaustive research. I've had it for 2 weeks now, and it's fantastic. The Windows interface was a great choice for me, since it made the transition from desktop to hand-held an intu...itive one. Here's the lowdown:Pros: The keyboard is actually a great feature - I use it a lot. I was concerned that the additional length added to accommodate the keyboard might make the whole unit too big, but it still fits nicely in my pocket.Once ActiveSync is set up and working, the connection between the ipaq and my pc is smooth. I had a little trouble getting started - I set everything up as suggested in the user guide, but the ipaq and the pc couldn't find each other. It was quite sad. I talked to someone at hp, and after much techno-babble from him (guys, please...speak english here - we're not all geeks) he suggested a soft re-boot. It's been smooth sailing since. The processor is nice and fast, so applications start up pretty quickly.Great display - no "yellow" noticed as I saw people complain about in reviews of earlier ipaq models. There's so much good stuff available for download, that setting up your ipaq could be a full time job, though there's still not as much available (yet) as there is for Palm-based products.Battery time is excellent.Cons:No cases are made for this one yet (that I could find), but it does come with a nylon case that's just fine. The Wi-Fi is a little hard to figure out, and I have to say, there's not much help in the user guide. Everything on line is cryptic as well...I get access sometimes, and sometimes I don't, and I'm surrounded by wireless hot-spots and my own wireless service. This is still a work in progress. When I have gotten access, it's been a great feature, though the pages (as expected) are small, and you still can't access everything on any web site.It would have been nice if hp had included a more powerful flash card, considering the money I spent on this thing.I love my ipaq, and I'd definitely suggest this over and Palm or Clie. Also, spring for the 4350 over the 4150 - the keyboard is worth it, and I think it comes with a better battery too. Read more Less

Pros: Easy to use, lots of extra's

Cons: doesn't work well in my cell area

Great PDA phone. I have been happy with everything EXCEPT the phone portion. In my area the frequencies used here are in constant conflict on my phone. I have had more dropped calls than a telemarketer calling at dinner time. It is however my carrier...s issue and not the phone. But check with your carrier prior to purchasing Read more Less

    Pocket PCs: The Wi-Fi Generation

Wi-Fi-enabled PDAs from Dell and HP put the Windows Mobile 2003 operating system on display. All three of these PDAs run Microsoft's Windows Mobile 2003 software for Pocket PC, and all three feature a 400-MHz Intel XScale CPU. Each has removable, rechargeable batteries and a charging cradle with a slot to accommodate a spare battery--a useful feature that Dell pioneered with its first Axim. All three handhelds have brilliant active-matrix touch-screen displays, as well as SD card slots for peripheral devices, memory, or data cards. Despite their similarities, however, the units differ significantly. Read more
