This has been the best investment I've ever made. Forget the Palm based PDA's, they don't compare to the windows based OS that the IPAQ uses. This is easy to use and the screen resolution is superb. It is a little heavy with the full expansion pack attached, but the modem/flash card/spare battery option on the expansion pack is well worth a little extra weight.

I looked at buying a lot of other alternatives. The Sony Clie, the Color Palm, and a few others, but none stacked up to the IPAQ 3650. The display blows away all of the other ones, and the price is pretty reasonable. I've been extremely happy with it thus far and would recommend it to any first time buyers.

I just got my iPAQ a few days ago. Was skeptical since it was a Compaq but it turned out to be much better than the HP and far superior to the Palm. So far it has been extremely reliable exchanging data with my desktop PC in Word, Money, Excel and Outlook. Zero effort, outstanding results. The stowaway keyboard is a must-have. It is virtually a laptop you can put in your pocket!

iPAQ Contacts/Address Book Info

OUTLOOK contacts has the ability to identify numerous subfolders/subcategories for its address book.

Can the iPAQ also maintain the multiple subfolders? For example, I'd like to have a business folder in which I could maintain a contact list for the many business clients I do
business with...i.e. IBM, Teledyne, Boeing, etc. Furthermore, within each company I'd like to identify various organizations/divisions.

I'm trying to decide whether iPAQ, Palm, or Handspring would best fit my needs.

Sorry to all you window haters out there that wont get to experience this product. The IPAQ is the best palm pc ever. I use windows and linux(linux is not a handheld OS but it will be in the near future hopefully) and palm OS. I'm also in school getting my technology coridnator degree aka net administrator. When it comes down to handheld OS windows has all of its competitors beat. Anyways back to the IPAQ! The display automaticly adjustes to the lighting around you. You can't beat that! Plus the expansion on this biotch is endless if you have the dough to do so. It comes with everything you need to get started. The battery life is 3-5 days witch is definantly a plus. Comapaq just came out with the H3670 witch is decent but this biotch sets the standards. Even the software package kicks palm butt. There are a few people in this forum that are biased against it but they have no idea what a palm pc is let alone an operating system so don't listen to them and get this SOB. The IPAQ is the ONLY Palm PC that i feel is similer to having a real PC. It has an Intel (Which is not my favorite processor) Strong Arm processor with 206MHz. It has 32 mega bytes of ram, and mostly all the Palm OS's have about 4 through 16 MB. It has a very vibrant color screen, the britest i'v ever seen, and Windows CE makes you feel like you are using a real PC, not some stupid Palm OS with only six Icons and no start button!!!

I own a palmIIIxe ,handspring visor and the ipaq 3650. Seemingly needless to say, the ipaq totally beats them down and wipes their pathetic pools of blood from the ground. The specs on the two of them combined still fall short of the ipaq ,even though there combined price is about dead even. my handspring crashes all the time with the bloody memory expansion pack. Sorry Win. haters, open your eyes and see the light. literally.

I admit it takes awhile to get used to the quirks of the iPAQ but once you get used to it it is without a doubt THE BEST pocket pc out there ... the fastest , most ram , overall great product ... everyone who uses windows (which is most of us) will understand the quirks of Microsoft in general . The WinCE on the iPAQ is no different . It may not be as stable as Palm OS but the features that it has which NO Palm has is worth it ... plays MP3's , has video capability . HECK you can even download movies onto it with the proper expansion pack . Which is another great thing ... the expandibility on this thing is OUTSTANDING !!!! It took me about a week or 2 to get used to the quirks and how to treat it "right" but now I can't live without my iPAQ.
