    Pros: Cost effective

    Cons: Unstable on a Macintosh

I was in the market for a cheap scanner when I had a Windows PC and was considering buying a Macintosh OSX laptop. Thus this was the one I settled on since I know hp's software is made for both systems. I do mostly web design, so for that purpose... it does a pretty good job considering resolution and overall scanning quality. However, when I tried to install the software on a Mac, it decided to stop working. After many frustrating attemtps, I finally got it to the point where only the "Precision Scan" part of the software works. (It may have had something to do with installing OS9, yet I don't have to run that OS to get it to work) It's still flaky, refusing to open both externally and in Photoshop. On Windows it works just fine. Read more Less
