A great All-In-One for the price!

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Oct 29, 2007 | 6 out of 7 found this HP Photosmart C7280 All-in-One review helpful

Pros: Tons of feature, great print quality!

    Cons: A bit slow.

I ust picked this up as a "specialty" printer. I wanted the scan/fax features, and I wanted a decent color printer that could do good photots in a pinch. I was looking at models at about $200, but for just a bit more, this one is a winner! ... It includes 6 cartridges (five color, one black), which gives vibrant, accurate colors in photos, and that mean you only have to replace the color that's actually out. The integrated color LCD is very nice, and the wireless network feature is terrific. All-in-all, this machine FEELS like it ought to cost at least $100 more. The onyl downside is that print speed is a bit slowish. Not bad mind you, but not blazing either. Read more Less

Don't expect any tech support from HP

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Oct 10, 2008 | 2 out of 2 found this HP Photosmart C7280 All-in-One review helpful

Pros: Color and quality is great, speed is good.

Cons: Zero support from hp. Software is disastrous.

The printer is good and does everything it said it will do. However, the software installation is HORRIBLE. At one point of the installation, it starts installing byte by byte. It took 4 days to install (while all of my other programs were running at... normal speed). Calling HP support is frustrating -- after going through their voice-recognition menu they will eventually tell you that they no longer support printer issues by phone and force you to use email or online chat. Their agents never pick up on their online chat and they never answer your email question. In short, don't expect any tech support from HP. Read more Less

    Buyer Beware!

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jan 28, 2008 | 5 out of 9 found this HP Photosmart C7280 All-in-One review helpful

Pros: Nice looking, Good photo quality

    Cons: Bottom tray too narrow.

I purchased this printer as a replacement for my Officejet D145. At first I enjoyed it ( for 25 days) but ran into a paper jam which could not be removed. I soon noticed that the bottom tray was too narrow and so paper cannot cannot be removed like m...ost printers. The space between this tray and the mid tray was so narrow that I could not get my fingers in between them to grab the paper. I finally used my wife's tweezers to pull the paper out. After this I kept getting an error message stating that I still had a paper jam. I can't believe this product was designed by engineers! It is too pricey an so, I regretfully recommend future buyers to steer away from this one. If you like HP buy the 5700 or 6000 series instead. Then buy a single function photo printer. Packed with Features

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jan 25, 2009 | 1 out of 2 found this HP Photosmart C7280 All-in-One review helpful

Pros: ADF, Fax are extra compared to typical home printers

Cons: no bluetooth connectivity, software slows down the PC

This one has many features, the one I like the most (which I missed in my previous one) is ADF (automatic document feeder), using which you can copy multiple pages w/o having to (re)place them each time. I used FAX/Copy/Print/Scan options and I am ha...ppy with the results. The photo print quality is excellent. I connect through my wireless router and there wasn't a problem with connection to my home desktop. I installed the software on my laptop too, and at work it constantly keep searching for the printer keeping CPU at 100%, I had to do some research to kill and disable it.The photo tray can take only 4x6, had they given the option for 5x7 it would have been nice. Some PCs cannot read 4GB SD (SDHC) cards and this Printer can read them, which is very good. This printer can be managed from the web based on its IP address, It shows stats (# fax sent etc..), Ink levels which is nice. Poor choice

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jul 29, 2009

    Pros: print quality

Cons: software, instruction manual, paper jams

I have had my 7280 for just over one year and would not buy it again. The documentation is next to useless. Installation took forever and was a pain. The duplex, two side printing does not work, you have to do it manually. Print quality is good. The ...machine makes more noises and sounds than an old washing machine. This is my second HP all in one and it will be my last. Good luck if you choose this one. Read more Less

    Dont waste your money

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jul 10, 2009

    Pros: None

    Cons: Everything about the machine

I'm really disappointed with this HP machine, I stood by HP because my old model was brilliant but unfortunately the same can’t be said for this model very much the opposite actually. The paper jams constantly, some times when it feels like ...it, it will print in grey when it's suppose to be black, borderless printing is not actually borderless the double sided print is a joke, but the worst has to be the never ending changing of the 6 ink cartridges “yes I did say 6”. You’ve only change one when the other is gone. How annoying! My advice is stay well away! Read more Less

    Custom Install necessary!

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Mar 5, 2009

    Pros: Good printer, Beautiful pictures

Cons: Software installation is a nightmare

Full "easy" install of the software crashed all 4 computers on my home network. Hard drive was running 24/7, programs wouldn't open or were not recognized as even installed. The answer is to choose custom install when the choice comes u...p and only install the BASIC stuff you need for the features you want. I had no need for automatic updates, online shopping or much of the other "fluff" that takes over your system. I installed basic drivers and the printer works like a charm on all 4 computers. As to tech support...don't waste your time. Any help you DO get is right out of the manual, or you are simply told to download your drivers from the website. Gee, Thanks, I couldn't have figured THAT out for myself! Read more Less
