My wife and I have had this camera for almost 6 months now and have probably taken around 1,000 photos with it. Never had any problems. I recommend using 2 star quality setting when taking pictures to save disk space unless you are printing pictures ...more than 8x10 size paper, then use the 3 star setting for pictures larger than 8x10 size. As far as battery consumption, I've never had a problem like other people say. I do recommend buying rechargeable batteries above 1800mAH, I personally carry 8 Panasonic 1950mAh batteries with the small Panasonic quick charger in my bag (model BQ-390, I paid $20 at BJ's and got the quick charger and 6AA & 2AAA batteries with it, you'll have to buy another pack of batteries to get the 8 batteries to have 4 as back-ups), I keep 4 batteries in the camera and 4 back-up batteries in the bag, this should allow you to never run out of battery life unless you're not around an electric outlet to charge the dead batteries, the charger has no bulky power pack to use, it's very small and just plugs in to a regular wall outlet, great accessory for this camera I recommend buying this with this camera or any other camera for that matter. This is a great digital camera, I prefer this camera over any Kodak camera out there of similar make and models. I hope my post is helpful. Read more Less
