The HP Photosmart 435 digital camera delivers great digital snapshots with 3.1 effective MP resolution and up to 5x continuous digital zoom. Snap a photo and select your preferred destination - e-mail addresses, printers, and more - using HP Instant Share. Connect your camera to a computer and your photos are instantly sent. The camera also features streaming video capability that allows video capture, which is limited only by the size of the camera's memory (16 MB internal memory and up to 128 MB SD/MMC memory card slot). On-camera manual controls and menus allow camera users to override automatic functions to add some creative touches. Help wizards act as a guide. Easily print without a computer via USB cable, or the camera's memory card. Optional dock enables effortless sharing of photos to computer (or select HP printers), recharging of batteries, and slide shows on TV using wireless remote.

    Great little camera

    Pros: Compact, easy to use, nice features

    Cons: A little battery hungry

    This camera is a great size. It is very compact and easy to carry in a jacket or shirt pocket. It is easy to use and has several nice features, especially the video-taking feature. It takes beautiful pictures! The only negative thing I've noticed... thus far (I've owned it for about 3 months now) is that it is a little battery hungry. I've found the best thing for that is the Ray-O-Vac 15-minute rechargable batteries. They last for a long time when used in the camera and it only takes 15 minutes to recharge them when they run out of juice. I like the camera so much, I had my Mom get one for herself.     Pros: digital video capture with audio

    Cons: bad image quality

    I was really disappointed. Takes less than 75 pictures with each set of batteries. 20% of the images come out either too dark or too light. Photo quality is less than satisfactory.The kids can enjoy video feature and audio, so at least it made a good... gift for them, but I would not trade it for my Kodak DX. Read more Less

    Budget-priced camera competes on price, not picture quality. Just because it has a 3.1-megapixel sensor doesn't mean you get very good pictures. In our tests, the Photosmart 435 placed just behind the 2.1-megapixel Sony DSC-U50, which has a very tiny camera body. Pictures taken from a distance--an outdoor shot and an indoor still life--looked OK, but a magnified-and-cropped shot looked extremely grainy. The Photosmart 435 lacks a zoom lens (not a big surprise) and has just two aperture values available to it (f4 and f8), and no scene modes. A pair of AA batteries gave us just 186 shots, or 65 minutes of life, much below the average of cameras we've tested. The LCD looks very grainy, and it shows images in slow motion. Read more
