    fragile frustration

    Pros: none

    Cons: screen, operating system, computer

Nothing worked from day one, the computer was incompatible with its own features and funtioality was limited (note the other review made no comments,it someone from HP). I will never buy another HP product again. The screen is great if you want a mir...ror, but unless your in a cave, forget about seeing anything on the computer, the Vista operating system is not compat with anything, Lyksys products, no, phone SW, no, older programs, no, LAN capabilities: does not like XP, works on and on, copies half files and then says the files dont exist, refuses user access to own files to protest you, evertime you try to make it useful it tell you that not a good thing to do and refuses to let you do anything, video recorder plays back at double speed, will not let XP from another computer transfer files unless you edit in special permissions. I busted mine into pieces, want it? Read more Less

Overheats, bad video cards, kills motherboard

By Irvine Developer  Oct 28, 2009

Pros: design of case, touchpad, screen

    Cons: thermal problems, battery, lifespan

My DV9000 series laptop just died at 11.99 months of life. It has had problems the last 6 months, including one return to HP service for a new video card. I have heard all of them have the same issue. Video card causes a thermal problem, and the moth...erboard gives out....repair bill $500. HP wouldn't fix mine, because I am traveling in China, and I didn't have enough time to ship it back to the US for repairs inside the warranty window. So a few days, cost me $700. It is the LAST HP I will ever own. And I have been through about 6 HP ink jet printers and scanners as well. The hardware is just junk. If HP wants to contact me, and make this right, I am open to a discussion. Until then, you will have negative reviews. Read more Less
