    Pros: Looks sharp, and solid.

    Cons: Can not play Blue Ray,

    I took my first machine back; does that tell you what I think about the dv7? I bought the laptop at Sam's Club. One of the features listed on the sales posting was that it could play blue ray DVDs. I bought a blue ray DVD to test it out (I also p...urchased MS Office). Well I could not play the DVD. After a long consultation with HP that ended with I should send the machine in for service. So the machine went back to Sam's Club. The second machine I only played regular DVDs, but it is sluggish. It would play then pause for a minute or two. And of course I receive the "We're sorry, this video is no longer available" for almost all of the online videos. Truly this is a buyer beware.     Lemon - bad quality

    Pros: none

    Cons: hardware, thermal, battery, motherboard

    very poor quality, not to be trusted.

    the lifespan is 11 to 13 months...and it is prolific

    huge problems with thermal shutdown

    vista os also is terrible

    many software problems on HP
