Not Worth It

Pros: quiet, light weight

Cons: Didn't last

I bought this computer in August of 2007. It wasn't even used every day and was used only for the takedown portion of my court reporting job. In June of 2009 the entire mother board died. At least that was the explanation I was given. Fact is, I... turned it on one day and got NOTHING!! NOTHING!!! I was advised that repairs would take 2-4 weeks (I had to send it back to HP, incurring the shipping expenses) and that repairs would start at $300. Because of time constraints I was forced to purchase another laptop. Unfortunately, because of time and availability I did end up buying another HP (Pavillion dv4) which died three days later. Took it back to Staples (where I had purchased the 4-year full warranty) and was told they would have to send it back to HP which would take approximately 2-4 weeks to REPAIR not REPLACE. Staples was able to get it working for me but I have had nothing but problems with that computer since I purchased it in June of '09. I will NEVER purchase another HP. I'm sold on Apple and other court reporters have sworn by Acer laptops. The HP laptops I've had experience with are not worth the money and certainly not worth the frustration!!!!!!!!!!!
