Cons: Crappy mother board, minimal upgrades allowable

The first thing I did was upgrade the RAM to 2 Gig. I never had any issues with working with this machine. No video or audio issues at all. All errors that happened were my fault and HP quickly helped me resolve them.
Upgrading this system however is limited. It is a barebones system and you get what you pay for. Upgrade the RAM to 2 gigs and most of these isses that people complain about may not occur.

My parents got this a x-mas in 07 as a gift from a family member. Being a computer science grad and an A+ cert person too. This Compaq is just crap. Came pre installed with Vista which sucks as much. This machine is so dam slow and hardly ever finishes a process. Some times the power cord has to be pulled just to shut the dam thing off. I can not express enough how Worthless this system is.

Pros: Great Price, got mine for 299 bucks, very fast, easy to use, runs most of my programs, burns dvds and cds quickly, reliable

Cons: could use more ram

ive owned this computer for 7 months, it has been great, use it every day. It has never not worked for me, and only have had a program or two that it wouldn't load.
only bad thing is it NEEDS more ram.

i cant begin how to discribe how much this computer sux!!!! it dont burn anything yet it says that it does.... no movies no music and yes i have tryed everything!!!!!!!installe
d new programs bought new ones!!!! still nothing and when i do get it to do something it works for like the first 20min and then stops compleatly....oh did i mention that the computer will shut off when ever it wants to

Pros: It starts

Cons: It never works. The techs know less than highschool kids. They will not back up their warranty until it runs out. Then they say "Your warranty has run out" Duh

I would like to praise HP for making the worst computer on the market.Compaq desktop computer. I have had it shipped back three times. Never understood a word support said. Never spoken to an American and am surprised I am posting this since my font is smaller than a pin head. I send it back and they return it exactly as it was in a week or less. My warranty runs out in a month and I am not ready for another 5 hour phone call with a tech trying to help me make it work. If I could do a screen shot right now you would need a magnifying glass to read this page.

If you are part of HP let them know I am making sure every person on the internet sites I run and everyone within speaking distance never to purchase their products even at the cost of a dollar. It would be a dollar wasted.
